The last thing you want to encounter before hitting the road is maneuvering your RV, Boat, or Camper out of storage. A Few Tips To Prepare Your RV for Storage
Getting an RV ready for storage is similar to winterization. It involves basic maintenance and if you’re anything like me, lots of cleaning!
- Clean your RV – Empty your refrigerator, cabinets, trash cans, or anything else that may turn into a musty or unpleasant smell. Especially, if you’re leaving it parked for an extended period of time. Wash it, by doing so it will keep your RV looking brand new!
- Change the engine oil – Replacing your RV’s oil is an important task in itself. Changing the oil before storage is a preventive measure to keep water and acids in the oil from causing possible damage to the engine. Never hurts to revisit the manufactures warranty for specifics!
- Top off your gas tank – By fueling your gas tank up before storage it prevents condensation in your fuel lines. If you’re storing for an extended period of time, may be worth adding a fuel stabilizer.
- Wheel chocks – Wheel Chocks or Chock Blocks, are designed to keep your vehicle from moving while parked. This is key for safety and reducing the possibility of your vehicle or trailer moving during storage.
